You Are Welcome Here is a compilation featuring a mishmash of experimental musicians, some famous (Nocturnal Emissions, Rapoon, Dan Melchior) and some up-and-coming talent. From Fabrica Records’ Bandcamp site:

[Music] AMN Reviews: Merzbow / Keiji Haino / Balazs Pandi – An Untroublesome Defencelessness (2016; RareNoiseRecords) — Avant Music News

There is something about the combination of noise-maven Merzbow and drummer extraordinaire Pandi that can do no wrong. They have teamed previously with Mats Gustafsson (2013’s Cuts) as well as the combination of Gustafsson and Thurston Moore (2015’s Cuts of Guilt, Cuts Deeper). This latest effort includes Keiji Haino, whose dark guitar soundscapes have evoked nightmares […]

[Music] Piarevaracien – Spadčyna / Heritage

First, a debt of thanks to our friends at Heathen Harvest. Yes, we have some differences politically, religiously and socially, but Paddy has done a sterling job in bringing some amazing music to the forefront of the underground music scene. We wish them continued success.

HH recently reviewed a new release by Belarusian folk-metal band Piarevaracien. I had never heard anything from them until today, and though I normally don’t find much interest in the metal work, folk-metal is too intriguing for me to ignore. You find old Belarusian rhythms, including bagpipe music, mixed with a very thoughtful metal compositions.

There’s quite a lot of this sort of music floating around these days, and I’d say most of it is good. This one is particularly so.

[Music] Silber Records: New Post Punk & Experimental Pop from M is We & Bronze Eye

New releases from our friends at Silber Records:

Hello,

Hope all is going well with you.  As mentioned last time the increased feeling of financial stability (if not actual stability) has created a dramatic increase in productivity here at Silber.  The new releases from a couple weeks ago (Chvad SB, Yellow6, & Anda Volley) seem to be getting some attention & that makes it feel like the label is thriving instead of declining.  The weather is hot & the days are long, but things seem good & promising & the future seems unstoppable.

M is We is back with us for an entry in the 5in5 series.  Post punk & proto goth somewhere between Christian Death, The Germs, & Cabaret Voltaire.  Good stuff & only 5 minutes to check out.

Bronze Eye & LD Beghtol collaborated for a 5 minute EP of experimental pop music.  I’m pretty stoked about this EP because the two of them got together because of LD’s 5in5 last year.  Helping artists discover each other & work together has been a goal of Silber from the start, so this is awesome for us.
