London-based Kazakh musician Aisha Orazbayeva has become one of my favorite active violinists.
She’s paired in this EP with Tim Etchells who adds spoken vocals, which work perfectly.

The Medeo Ensemble were a jazz-fusion band out of Almaty, Kazakhstan (then a part of the USSR). As far as I can tell, this is the only album they ever released, but it holds up nicely.

Another Soviet ethno-jazz project of high quality. Boomerang hailed from Kazakhstan, and this particular album is considered their rarest.

Galymzhan Zholdasbay, also known as Alimhan Yoldaşbey or Галымжан Жолдасбай, is a Kazakh folk-pop singer melding traditional Kazakh melodies into a catchy, accessible ditty.
