This is not a cover of the John Coltrane classic in a traditional sense, but Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin of the Mahavishnu Orchestra bring out the heart of the great master’s work here beautifully.
Seek out this album, as it’s a masterpiece.

Luscombe’s Choice – 25th February 2015 by Resonance Fm on Mixcloud
Before today, I had no idea who Will Luscombe was. I’m certainly impressed with his choices in jazz!
Resonance FM is quite a site for amazing podcasts.
Most of the time, you will find some tasteful rarities here. Today, a couple of giants are gracing these pages: Miles Davis and John Coltrane, playing live and tearing things up. Miles was already beginning to peak (and didn’t stop until near his death), and John was just beginning to make a name for himself. Enjoy!
