This Uzbek disco clip is pilfered from the late Soviet Union-era movie “Take Care of the Women! (Beregite zhenschin!).” Though I can find no information on the band, this track does but the “party” into “Communist Party,” no?

As lounge music and easy listening were massive during the 1990’s, library music seems to be the rage for today. So many labels are releasing wonderful compilations that it’s nearly impossible to keep up with what’s coming out, and what belongs on the top shelf. Buried Treasure Records seems to have come out with the year’s best library comp, which also happens to be available on vinyl and CD. Check out these tracks by no-name artists who deserved a better fate than to be forgotten for so long. All the material is brilliant!
[Music] Various Artists – Hot Casa Records: Togo Soul 70 Edits & Rarities
One of the beautiful things about scouring the net, including sources like Bandcamp, Youtube and Soundcloud, is that you’ll run into scenes of music you had no idea existed just a few years ago.
A fine case in point is this 4-track EP of edits from Hot Casa Records. This compilation features tracks from the West African country of Togo’s disco scene, and it holds its own when compared to heavyweights from the US and Europe during the 1970s.
Bosq and DJ Pushin Wood remix the first two tracks, and the others are previously unreleased according Hot Casa’s Bandcamp page.

There isn’t a lot of information on wild psych music coming out of places like Tajikistan, but this isn’t a bad slice of Central Asian arabesque disco-prog, courtesy of Makhfirat Hamroqulova & Gulshan. Hamroqulova is not only a famous singer in the country, but an actress of note as well.
