Tarot by Walter Wegmüller is one of those wonderful, dotty follies of vinyl packaging that transcend normal expectations with bravura wackiness. Released on the Cosmic Couriers label ((Die Kosmischen Kuriere, for those who do Deutsch) in 1973, it hovers near the very peak of my LP Grail list. I’ve never held a copy, never […]
[Typography] The Font of Poetry, The Poetry of Font

I have a deep love of typography. There’s something rather magical about letterforms, especially of those which aren’t seen so often in our culture, like those of the Glagolitic alphabet, the Georgian and Armenian alphabets, and both Arabic and Persian scripts.
Adrienne Raphel of The Paris Review does a wonderful job articulating her love of the letterform.

[Literature] Three Books — Biblioklept
Crash by J.G. Ballard. 1994 trade paperback by Noonday (FS&G). Cover design by Michael Ian Kaye and Melissa Hayden. I had a redneckish college roommate who was way into cars, so I encouraged him to watch Cronenberg’s adaptation of Crash with me, which he did. He was a nice guy. He watched all of it with me and […]
[Music] Lawrence English – Approaching Nothing — music won’t save you
