Gang Of Four never got enough credit as one of England’s finest post-punk bands. Even when they went through a pop phase, they pulled it off with panache. Thankfully, this is prime era GoF.
[Music] Padot na Vizantija – Sepak Istata Sostojba
Padot na Vizantija (The Fall of the Byzantium in English) were one of the leading lights in the Yugoslavian post-punk scene. Singer Goran Trajkoski went on to participate in two legendary projects: Anastasia and Mizar (for a short tenure).

Joy Division lead singer Ian Curtis died on this day 37 years ago. Time flies.
[Music] Die Haut – Doggin’ (Feat. Lydia Lunch)
Die Haut were a German post-punk band who were active during the 1980s and 90s. They collaborated with such luminaries as Nick Cave and Blixa Bargeld, but go full-on swamp blues here with Lydia Lunch.
[Music] Orchestre Rouge – Seconds Grate
I couldn’t find anything on Orchestre Rouge in English, but the French band were among the best post-punk groups France ever produced.
[Music] Steven Severin – 23 Wounds Of Julius Caesar
Seeing that today is the Ides of March, the day Julius Caesar was turned into a pin cushion by a creepy cadre of senators, it’s appropriate to celebrate the day by highlighting a recent release by former Siouxsie and The Banshees bassist Steven Severin.
[Music] UZS – Ukryte Zalety Systemu – Ukryte Zalety Systemu
Ukryte Zalety Systemu is an incredible post-punk band out of Poland who maintain the spirit of the genre’s heyday in the early 1980s.
[Music] The Durutti Column – Domo Arigato [FBN 52 / CD]
Wonderful news for Durutti Column fans! Factory Benelux has given the royal treatment to the band’s Factory Records live album, which was the first work of theirs I ever heard. The set has been expanded to three CDs, which includes archive material as well as a DVD of the concert, which was held in Japan in 1984.
