What a cover. Julia Guther’s “remixed artwork” is the EP’s entry point, making one think, I have to hear this.

Another treasure from Reddit, it turns out that Libaaxyada Maaweeliska Banaadir (Banaadir Entertainment Lions) was a theater group from Mogadishu who mixed talented veterans with burgeoning new talent from the late 1970s to the early 1980s, before everything went to Hell.

This came as a nice surprise while checking out some fuzz-laden garage tracks on Reddit today. As it turns out, Bango also have this available via Bandcamp.
Cranioclast were from Hagen, Germany, and were one of the most interesting of the German cassette label projects I used to collect. They ventured into making a couple of vinyl records and CDs, but then disappeared into the ether. They’re a group crying out for a reissue campaign, definitely.
Björk seemed to be peaking when she recorded this track for her 2011 album, Vespertine. If you’ve ever had the chance to hear this in 5.1 Surround Sound, it’s a delight to the ears.

A debt of thanks for our friends at La Ruleta Rusa Radio Program in Spain for around 7 hours of David Bowie-related programming!

David Bowie, Brian Eno, Philip Glass, all remixed by Aphex Twin. As collaborative efforts go, it doesn’t get much better than this.
As if I don’t have a number of interesting reasons to visit Russia. The Day Of Life Forgotten is an independent net label operating, it seems, out of Moscow (though if it’s not the case, I’ll update the post). This release, by my friend Alexei Serebreikov under his monicker Скрижали сна, is a great balance of electronic music, mixing elements of psychedelic music and drum & bass, a touch of IDM, all the while keeping everything sounding balanced and rhythmic. Something worth pursuing.
Great news from Nicolas Malevitsis in Greece:

http://rekemrecords.tumblr.com/post/137212865542/leif-elggren-das-baank-lpWe are proud to present this new solo album from veteran Swedish artist
Leif Elggren. Leif has been active as a writer, visual artist, stage

collaborations, and as part of the Sons of God (with Kent Tankred). Work of
his has appeared on labels such as Ash International, Touch, Radium and

both the area of pure sound, as well as that of symbolism, this new record

corruption in our present time. You can stream a selection here:

Unfortunately, there’s no embedding capability for my friend Zdenko Colic’s music, but if you like shoegaze and rock combined, this may be worth checking out.
