There seems to be absolutely no information on this band except for an entry at their label, Branco Records, out of Japan. This was originally a private pressing, and it reminds me of some soft, hazy, prog-psych, with touches of bands like The Flower Travellin’ Band.

[Video] Los Dug Dug’s – Who Would Look At Me?
Los Dug Dug’s were the Mexican psychedelic answer to The Beatles. There needs to be a good retrospective done on how utterly amazing the Mexican rock scene was in the 1960s and 1970s.
[Video] It Flew Away – Pull Out All The Stops Mother
If any of my friends have any information on this Australian band (I found nothing but a Discogs entry for It Flew Away, surprisingly), I’d love to learn more. The music is somewhat Floydian, and very groove-oriented.
[Video] Hash Jar Tempo – Well Oiled
Shimmery and lo-fi are words that normally shouldn’t go well together. In the hands of New Zealand guitarist Roy Montgomery and members of the Philadelphia-based Bardo Pond, the description fits perfectly.
You can read more about Hash Jar Tempo here via Wikipedia.
[Video] Causa Sui – Homage
10 minutes of psychedelic/Kraut bliss. I know little about Causa Sui, except that they are a modern band who record for El Paraiso Records currently. They really do wonders for modern psych music.
[Video] Amanaz – Africa (Full Album)
Thanks to Oded Fried-Gaon and Oddrocker Orlando Greenhill, who posted this originally. Amanaz produce amazing psych-fuzz, and hail from Zambia.
[Video] Alcatraz – Piss Off (1971)
With many thanks to Alan Freeman, the proprietor of England’s coolest prog-rock shop, Ultima Thule, and the editor of the magazine which poisoned my musical taste for the rest of my life, Audion.
This freakish track by Alcatraz managed to scramble the brains of Steven Stapleton of Nurse With Wound. If that isn’t high praise, nothing is.
[Video] Pärson Sound – India (Slight Return)
This band comes as a revelation to me. Apparently, Pärson Sound compare favorably to The Velvet Underground, and have connections with legendary Swedish Progressive Folk band Träd, Gräs och Stenar.
I hope to come across more of their weird psych sounds.
[Video] Santa Y Su Gente – Una Nueva Vida
Uruguayan jazz-rock. How cool is this?!
I have Lion Productions to thank for advising the world about this unknown gem from Uruguay. Apparently, Santa y Su Gente specialized in Afro-Jazz fusion that’s an utter delight to mellow out to, and had to do so during the military dictatorship occurring in the 1970s.
Rough times produce awe-inspiring music.
[Video] ‘Wild’ Billy Chyldish & CTMF – March Of The Grey Mod Mullets
Despite the odd spelling change, Billy Childish is still producing fine music. This is an instrumental track from 2013, courtesy of Damaged Goods Records.
