Focused, raw Apocalyptic Folk from Roses Never Fade, a band who carries the spirit of acts like American Neofolk legends such as Changes and good British psychedelic folk music like Comus.

[Video] Dielo – Dielo (1975) [Full Album]
This is an odd one, even by my standards. I never expected to come across Georgian pop-psych, but… I did. Here’s Dielo!
[Video] Public Image Ltd. – Banging The Door
Going through some old post-punk albums last night, Public Image Ltd‘s name came to mind. Thanks to Enzo Notorio’s good taste, he pointed me to the direction of The Flowers of Romance, which contained this gem.
[Video] Garybaldi – Nuda (1972)
Some classic Prog listening for the evening, courtesy of Garybaldi.
[Video] Caravan – Cold As Ice
I love the Canterbury Scene sound. The music was intricate, and the lyrics bordered on profound.
Caravan were about the best the genre ever produced.
[Video] Controlled Bleeding – Red Stigmata
Perhaps too diverse for their own good, Controlled Bleeding were very comfortable working in everything from harsh noise to nearly danceable beat music which fit in well with the Wax Trax! Records crowd.
This track, however, is the one which left the longest impression for me. It reminds me more of a Gothic take on progressive rock, and it’s a vein I wish the band would have tapped more, because it really caught them at their best.
I’m absolutely thrilled to know that Paul Lemos has soldiered on, but it’s quite a bitter loss knowing that Joe Papa and Chris Moriarty have moved on to their great reward.
[Video] Mother Gong – Every Witches Way (Full Album)
With the passing of Daevid Allen, I’m monitoring a lot of Gong-related activity. Coming across this piece of weirdness, courtesy of Gilli Smyth, is both amusing and cringe-inducing in a wonderful way.
Special thanks to Dave Read who posted this.
[Video] Zao – Marochsek
Zeuhl at its finest, made by Zao, which included Magma alums Yochk’o Seffer (saxophone, clarinet), François Cahen (piano) and Didier Lockwood (violin).
[Video] Alcatraz – Piss Off (1971)
With many thanks to Alan Freeman, the proprietor of England’s coolest prog-rock shop, Ultima Thule, and the editor of the magazine which poisoned my musical taste for the rest of my life, Audion.
This freakish track by Alcatraz managed to scramble the brains of Steven Stapleton of Nurse With Wound. If that isn’t high praise, nothing is.
Daevid Allen has died

Gong’s wonderful front-man has passed on to his great reward. He had been suffering for some time, but kept a brave face. Expect to see links all over social media shortly, but this news comes from his son, which is making the rounds in mailing groups. May Daevid rest well.
