Club de Jazz 2/01/13 Irene Aranda (Concierto y Entrevista), Rolf & Joachim Kühn Quartet, etc
El Club de Jazz is the finest podcast I’ve run across in terms of new jazz and improvisational music. The show is broadcast in Spanish, but you need not understand the language fluently to indulge in all the fine music they offer. ECdJ also offers other podcasts, so consider subscribing to them via RSS feel.

[Video] Tindersticks – Show Me Everything
Stuart A. Staples and band in fine form.
[Video] Goat – Goathead
A new band for me, Goat hail from Sweden and play some very, very strange music that seems rather hard to classify, though it would fit well in scenes where people like groups such as Borbetomagus and, say, Cibo Matto.

Welcome to AMOT…
To start the blog, one could do far worse than post a picture of one of my musical heroes, the legendary ‘Satchmo’, Louis Armstrong, giving an impromptu performance in Cairo, Egypt, for a throng of fans in 1961. The photo is from the Louis Armstrong House Museum, and I wish to acknowledge Meridian.org, who originally posted this picture and others.
