[Music] The Durutti Column – Domo Arigato [FBN 52 / CD]
Wonderful news for Durutti Column fans! Factory Benelux has given the royal treatment to the band’s Factory Records live album, which was the first work of theirs I ever heard. The set has been expanded to three CDs, which includes archive material as well as a DVD of the concert, which was held in Japan in 1984.

It’s amazing to think that this album, which sold pitifully when it was first released, influenced almost everyone who bought it to form a band, so the legend goes. I’m very happy to hear John Cale himself had a hand in preparing this seminal release by The Velvet Underground & Nico. I simply hope the remastering is good.
[Music/Film] Two LPs from erotic horror flick Vampyros Lesbos reissued by Wah Wah
Oh, happy day! Though I always enjoyed the Crippled Dick reissue of said soundtrack, it seems too truncated. Wah Wah Records has rectified the problem. The soundtrack to Vampyros Lesbos can now be heard in fuller glory, with beautiful repackaging.

The members of The Smiths has mentioned that they loved Parliament and Funkadelic, but I had no idea that they started jamming to those tunes. Former drummer Si Wolstencroft found this ancient demo, and it will be released shortly.

There’s a “Yes, but…” here, as Young Americans would be the album which came from the ashes of this unreleased album. Still, it’s so nice that this new David Bowie box set, Who Can I Be Now?, includes this unreleased gem.

Vinyl Factory Blog reports the wonderful news that Ennio Morricone will receive the vinyl reissue treatment for the soundtrack to one of Italy’s most notorious directors, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and his banned cult hit, Teorema.
