Prince has died. Another massive loss, another long round of phone calls of friends sharing why they saw him as a pivotal artist during the 1980s. May he rest in peace.

Another treasure from Reddit, it turns out that Libaaxyada Maaweeliska Banaadir (Banaadir Entertainment Lions) was a theater group from Mogadishu who mixed talented veterans with burgeoning new talent from the late 1970s to the early 1980s, before everything went to Hell.

Cranioclast were from Hagen, Germany, and were one of the most interesting of the German cassette label projects I used to collect. They ventured into making a couple of vinyl records and CDs, but then disappeared into the ether. They’re a group crying out for a reissue campaign, definitely.
