[Music] Ennio Morricone’s soundtrack to banned masterpiece Teorema reissued on vinyl

Vinyl Factory Blog reports the wonderful news that Ennio Morricone will receive the vinyl reissue treatment for the soundtrack to one of Italy’s most notorious directors, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and his banned cult hit, Teorema.
Easy/cheesy/sleazy listening for all! A slice of the soundtrack is provided below:
[Music] Groupe Naissance – Vivre Avec Toi
I can find no information on Groupe Naissance except for the fact that they were a Christian psychedelic folk group out of France. Charming stuff.
Thanks to my dear friend Betül Etik, who is responsible for finding this piece.
[Music] Francisco López – Untitled Sonic Microorganisms
Francisco López is perhaps Spain’s finest experimental music composer. I’ve had the pleasure of watching him perform in Los Angeles and Washington D.C., and would always enjoy the opportunity to see his events. Challenging, but worthwhile listening.
[Music] Toshiko Yonekawa – The Cherry Blossoms (Sakura Sakura)
Here is some classical music featuring the koto, composed by Toshiko Yonekawa from Japan.
[Music] Steve Layton – Le Visage Nuptial
I’m perfectly pleased to have friends like composer Steve Layton. This is beautifully recorded, organized chaos. A perfect way to wade through this evening.
[Music] Mohammed Abdu / Morning Breeze (محمد عبده – يا نسيم الصباح)
For a country which purportedly frowns on secular music, this is pretty joyful music with no muezzin to be heard anywhere. Mohammed Abdu cuts a cheerful track, though with a title like ‘Morning Breeze,’ one must be careful of what else he may have cut…
[Music] Makhfirat Hamroqulova & Gulshan / Махфират Ҳамроқулова & Гульшан – Дилро Бубин
There isn’t a lot of information on wild psych music coming out of places like Tajikistan, but this isn’t a bad slice of Central Asian arabesque disco-prog, courtesy of Makhfirat Hamroqulova & Gulshan. Hamroqulova is not only a famous singer in the country, but an actress of note as well.
[Music] Аукцыон / Auktyon – Птица / Bird
Auktyon were one of Russia’s best post-punk bands, and certainly among the most creative in what was then Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, Russia.
[Music] Daniel Lanois – Deconstruction (feat. Rocco DeLuca)
Daniel Lanois is a name to everyone who enjoyed early Brian Eno, as well as the peak-era U2 albums, as Lanois produced them. What is forgotten is what a magnificent musician he is on his own. He teams with Rocco DeLuca here for this sublime piece from the album ‘Goodbye To Language’ available September 9th.
Big hat tip to Jeffrey Kinart, who has a knack of discovering gems daily.
