An appropriate piece for the Thanksgiving holiday. May you all have a wonderful one with family and friends by your side.
[Music/Religion] Chamanisme en Sibérie : Les esprits écoutent avec Henri Lecomte
A wonderful program in French on Siberian shamanism. Listen to the music. There is a thread one would find familiar in a lot of Native American music.
[Music] Isihia [Исихия] – Lord I Called Thee [Господи Возвах]
[Music] The Bulgarian Voices Angelite – Gospodi Pomiloi
The Bulgarian Voices Angelite are the continuation of the Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir, made famous in the west as Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares, who became popular through a release on 4AD Records and a collaboration with British singer Kate Bush. Here they are singing one of the most beautiful hymns in the Eastern Orthodox canon.
[Video] The Hilliard Ensemble – Passio (Composed by Arvo Pärt)
After a rather brutal week health-wise, I figured it was time to listen to something which would be both lengthy and calm enough to let me wind down a bit. Hearing England’s The Hilliard Ensemble perform this sumptuous work by Arvo Pärt suffices nicely.
