Miłość was a Polish free-jazz powerhouse from 1988 to 1992, and became well-known around the world thanks to their collaborations with Lester Bowie, the trumpet player from the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians and the Art Ensemble of Chicago.

[Music] WIRED: Let’s All Obsess Over This Intricate Map of Alt Music History

WIRED Magazine, you’ve made my day with this chart!
[Music] Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso – Darwin!
Thanks to my friend Miguel Douglas, who reminded me of how good Banco were.
[Music] Ejwuusl Wessahqqan – Ejwuusl Wessahqqan (1975)
While working at Aron’s Records during the 1990s, I came across this disc by Ejwuusl Wessahqqan (a name you have to say stoned, I guess) and did a bit of research by asking some of my clients about the band. They considered it a true Krautrock gem, and I couldn’t agree more.
[Music] Uncompromising Instant composing solo set and ensemble set

Many thanks to our friend Raoul van der Weide, who let us know about this upcoming event at the Huis de Pinto!

[Music] Test Dept. – A Good Night Out
Though Test Dept. ended their days as a sub-rate techno band, selling out to the dance floor, their fans remember their more brutal and primal material.
[Music] John Zorn – Nosferatu: The Stalking
[Music] Imandra Lake – Küll süda teab (singel)
If My Bloody Valentine left a love child in the Baltic states, that child would grow up to be Estonia’s coolest indie band, Imandra Lake.
[Music] Marta Ren & The Groovelvets – Stop Look Listen
Portugal’s got soul! Marta Ren is part of a worldwide neo-soul wave which groups like Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings got rolling several years ago, and her take on the genre is a marvel to listen to.
[Music] Robert Görl – Love In Mind
Sunday’s listening was good enough with Robert Görl of DAF, but add to this a gorgeous, floating, dancing Anna Karina, and you have the visual stimulation for a delightful evening’s viewing, too.
