It’s high time South Korea’s indie scene had more exposure. Hopefully bands like Ironic Hue will open the doorway for more great post-rock bands from the country.

[Music] Steve Jansen – Slope
Steve Jansen is best remembered for his work playing percussion for New Wave darlings Japan, but has gone on to making more sophisticated jazz/ambient recordings not unlike the music Talk Talk was making near their swansong.
[Film] Viy (Directed by Alexander Ptushko, Konstantin Yershov, George Kropachev)
To my knowledge, Viy (Вий) is the only horror movie ever made in the Soviet Union. If someone could correct me on that, I’d be much obliged.
The film was adapted from the work of the same name by one of my favorite writers, Nikolai Gogol.
[Music] Anthony Braxton – Take Five
Anthony Braxton is, for my money, America’s greatest living improviser and jazz composer. That he can make a staple like Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond’s ‘Take Five‘ into something covered in his fingerprints simply amazes me.
[Film] Auguste & Louis Lumière – Workers Leaving the Lumiere Factory (1895)
This is the beginning of the motion picture industry, believe it or not. Brothers Auguste & Louis Lumière produced this short film of workers going in and out of their factory in 1895. The world is still reeling from the consequences of this action.

[Music] Sound Of The Day : Regn — Wyrd Words & Effigies
I’ve been following blogger and dark style queen Mai Magi for well over a year now, so when she announced she was launching a music project I was excited to say the least. Regn is an ambient sort of project. Mai herself says that she ‘makes weird sounds with limited tools.’ Witching Hour is my […]
[Music] (Petroglyph470) Yan Terrien – Music For Corridors — petroglyph music
[Music] Wizards and Warlocks of Rock — Bandcamp Daily
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard It’s no secret that metal and stoner rock acts have long been obsessed with the occult. We’re not talking about actual devil worship—or even an infatuation with mystic texts. By “occult,” we mean using the visual and lyrical tropes of magical dudes with spellbinding beards as a way to […]
