Much respect to Serge the Concierge, a colleague over at a mailing list dedicated to new music technology.

He hipped the list to one of the coolest podcasts I’ve heard in a while, the Caipirinha Appreciation Society.  If Brazilian tunes are your thing, you will enjoy the heck out of this.

Mute Records are quite good at bringing to the world some of the finest in new and challenging music, from Throbbing Gristle to Depeche Mode back in the day. They dig a bit deeper in their Comminiqué series of podcasts (subscribe here via RSS). One group in particular caught my eye. Irmin Schmidt, a founding member of the German jazz-Kraut-prog-proto-world-music band Can has teamed up with breakbeat specialist Karo for a series of podcasts. Four have been released so far, with a fifth promised. Check back at this post for any further additions to this fascinating series.
