I’m trying really, really hard to find kind words to say about the passing of the infamous huckster Malcolm McLaren, but they’re just not coming out. The guy was a pretentious, P. T. Barnum-type figure, a poseur of the worst order. Yes, that’s harsh, but to be fair, he was also the man who was instrumental in bringing unto the world The New York Dolls, The Sex Pistols and “Buffalo Gals.” At least on the first two points, he should be remembered fondly.
