During my time in Skopje, I had the pleasure of meeting several people who had impeccable taste in music. Two of them, Dean and Estella, ran one of the best indie clubs in Macedonia, La Kaña Bar. It was thanks to these two that my taste in post-rock expanded.

I don’t get much of an opportunity to follow what is happening in the world of progressive rock, so I have to rely on interesting blogs like this one to see what’s going on in that corner of the Universe. Looks rather interesting, actually!

One of the joys of running a blog is getting the chance to shill for those whose work you admire or respect. Expect to see lots of blogs and websites here for that sole reason. This one comes from Tumblr, and I’ve become addicted to it, waiting to see what slice of graphic art this tasteful person will post next. Mirial Nerval gets no love for hating jazz, but scores serious honesty points by publically drinking her Haterade.

George Khuroshvili of Russia has provided a wonderful service with his Russian fan site dedicated to the wonders of King Crimson called Providence. George provides another site, updating his previous work, called Providence News. If you read Russian and have a profound interest in King Crimson and their alumni, give it a good read. If not, it’s got good links.

The Fader, one of the best indie rock mags gets the WordPress face lift. A good choice, I must say.

Keep a good eye on Gogoyoko. They have impeccable taste in new music!

Paste Magazine links to a BBC article on a very promising phenomenon occurring in the UK. British bands have decided to embrace not only technology but fan access. This will do wonders for their sales.
