Folque were a Norwegian folk-prog band who were active in the early 1970s. According to some comments I’ve read recently, though they didn’t make much of a dent in the American market, they were quite popular in Brazil, of all places.

A Mexican-American folk singer from Detroit who didn’t sell too many albums, but did manage to have a good tour of Australia, and then fell into obscurity, or so he thought. He ended up outselling Elvis Presley in South Africa, and fans from there hunted him down. …
